Physical Exams

At McCurdy Animal Hospital, we strongly believe in regular physical exams–our doctors are checking nose to tail– everything from looking in the mouth for signs of periodontal disease, to identifying masses, to listening for normal heart and lung sounds. We also want to get to know you, your pet, and your family, and give you the opportunity to ask any questions you have about your pet’s care and tailor your pet’s preventive care needs.

Wellness Screening Bloodwork

There are several common diseases that are much more successfully treated if they are diagnosed in their early stages. Disease processes such as kidney disease, liver disease, and diabetes are just a few that tend to have a much better prognosis if caught early. Because of this, we recommend yearly wellness blood testing to check for these diseases as well as others to ensure the health of your pet. We also require blood work before any surgical or dental procedure.
