Dr. Blaine O'Reilly grew up in Huntsville, Ala. He started working at McCurdy Animal Hospital while in high school in the early 1990s. He worked full time at McCurdy Animal Hospital for 3 years in the late 1990s as head technician.
Dr. O'Reilly earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Science from Auburn University in 2000, a Master of Science in Animal Science in 2004 and a DVM in 2006, all from Auburn.
He completed his Equine Internship at Rood and Riddle Equine Hospital in 2007, and was Associate Veterinarian in Winchester, Va., at Equine Medical Services from 2007 to 2008.
In January 2008, Dr. O'Reilly returned to McCurdy Animal Hospital as Associate Veterinarian. He currently practices both large and small animal medicine and surgery and is excited to work on exotics such as ferrets, rabbits and birds.
Dr. O'Reilly purchased the practice in July 2011. He is active in organized veterinary medicine as the Madison County Veterinary Medical Association's delegate to the Alabama State Board of Veterinary Medicine.
He spends his free time with his wife, Rynne, and son, George. They enjoy traveling to the Smoky Mountains. Their pets include 5 dogs, 4 horses, 1 cat, 2 goats and multiple chickens.
Dr. Andrea Maddox is originally from Tullahoma TN. Dr. Maddox grew up riding and competing horses in eventing competitions. She also was a Pony Club member for 15 years. She worked as a veterinary technician for equine practices and small animal practices during her college and veterinary school years.
Dr. Maddox earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Science from Mississippi State University in 2004. She then attended The University of Tennessee Veterinary School to obtain a DVM degree in 2009. Member of IVCA.
She has been working in Huntsville, AL for 3 years at a Small Animal exclusive practice. She decided it was time to return to working with horses and joined the McCurdy Animal Hospital Team in September 2012 to practice both large and small animal medicine and surgery.
Dr. Maddox's interests include small animal and large animal ultrasound, radiology and dentistry. She is also a member of the International Veterinary Chiropractic Association.
In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her husband, Kent, and son, Walter. Their other children include a Great Dane, Lily and two Labrador retrievers, Teak and Coal. We, also, have a lovable cat Baxter and a horse named George.
